Live to the 100 or die younger…

Live to the hundred or die younger…

Never before the question of how we will aged has been to present in our developed societies.

One of the most impacting effect of development has been the increase in life expectancy .

In barely sixty years, the limit have been pushed all the way to 72.6 years for 2019 according the United Nations and it is for the entire world. Of course there are still differences between the developed countries where the population is aging and the developing countries where the demographic boom is happening. Almost 15 years have been added.

A spectacular jump due to multiple factors like better food, better living conditions, more hygiene, less physical job because of the machine.

So when I turn fifty and I look at what the statistics tell me which most probably a third of my generation will reach the hundred  I seriously questioned what it means.

And for sure if I don’t reach the hundred i will have died younger if I would have been part of this third.

So the question is how I can put be sure to do my best to reach this goal. And it is a personal goal that not everybody is ready to envision.

But I don’t want to be like my mother who , when , she turned eighty decided that she was ready to go. That she had live long enough and have experienced enough that she was ready for God to call her to his side.

Well she turned eighty one, then eighty two and going to be eighty three and nothing .. no recall.

So now she wonders why and what will happen.

It brought me to think and consider to plan how I want to live to the hundred.

This way I can give perspective to my years to come.

I have not been able to know my grand fathers. They all died when either I wasn’t born or in my early years. Barely  I got to know my grand mothers one died early and the other one well had a short life times also.
